ISLAMABAD: Raoof Hasan, the information secretary for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was detained by Islamabad Police on Monday from the Central Secretariat of the party for allegedly leading a digital media cell that disseminated propaganda against Pakistan and its integrity.
The police in the nation’s capital made it clear that they merely detained Hasan during a raid “on the basis of evidence” in response to rumors that the PTI spokesperson and Chairman Gohar Khan had been arrested.
“The PTI digital media centre had become a centre of international disinformation, from where anti-Pakistan propaganda is run throughout the world,” police stated.
Gohar stated he accompanied Hasan to the police lines, but the police allowed the PTI chairman to escape because he wasn’t wanted at all.According to the police, everyone directly connected to the anti-national propaganda was detained along with all of the evidence seized from the PTI’s digital media unit.
“It’s absolutely shameful how Islamabad Police continues to completely mock and disregard every law in this country,” the party stated in a statement on X. In Pakistan, the law of the jungle is in effect!
