The Quboolkhel checkpost of the Esakhel police in the Mianwali district was attacked by a group of 12 to 14 militants. Early in the morning, the checkpost was the target of highly armed terrorists brandishing hand grenades and rocket launchers, which resulted in a heated gunfight.
The attack was thwarted by the checkpost’s police officers, who reacted swiftly and vehemently to stop it. A representative for Mianwali District Police Officer Akhtar Farooq stated that the terrorists left when the police responded to the assault.
Two police officers were slightly hurt in the incident, however the Esakhel DSP and SHO were at the checkpost with a sizable contingent.
A thorough search was conducted in the region after the attack to find and capture the escaping terrorists.
