Following intense protests in the former Soviet republic, Georgia’s opposition party announced Wednesday that a leader had been arrested by police after being rendered unconscious by cops in the capital city of Tbilisi.
A video of Nika Gvaramia being dragged limp by multiple men down a street in broad daylight was posted on social media by the Coalition for Change party, which is made up of four opposition parties.
The Droa party, which Gvaramia represented, was founded by Elene Khoshtaria, who told that police had broken into their headquarters on Wednesday.
They were really combative. “Everything was taken away,” she stated. Police turned against Gvaramia shortly after his arrival. Khoshtaria said that the cops had brutally battered him.
