In April, authorities in Memphis, Tennessee, around a month after Troy Cunningham was shot, issued an arrest order for Deario Wilkerson by US federal police.
Officers went to a Memphis residence on August 26th where they thought the 20-year-old was hiding.
According to a press release from the US Marshals Service, Wilkerson hid in the attic after encircling the house.
Wilkerson fell through the ceiling while the police investigated the property, scattering dust and debris all over the kitchen.
Despite not being hurt in the fall, Wilkerson was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder and reckless endangerment of a deadly weapon related to the homicide.
According to News, Wilkerson was one of three suspects named in the incident, which happened after Mr. Cunningham allegedly had his gun taken and turned against him.
It further said that as Cunningham attempted to run, he was shot in the back of the head.
