Before the second round of the PGA Championship took place in Louisville, Kentucky, on Friday, Scheffler was abruptly arrested. It was reported that he tried to maneuver his vehicle through a deadly accident-related traffic jam outside the Valhalla golf club.
After the incident, which resulted in charges against him and the release of a police picture showing him in an orange jail uniform, the 27-year-old stated he was “rattled” by it.
Following his claim that he was “dragged/knocked down by the driver” during the pre-dawn incident, Louisville Detective Bryan Gillis is now facing “corrective action” for neglecting to turn on his body-worn camera.
A streetcam footage that appears to show Scheffler’s automobile going into the golf club entrance has already been made public by the police. It also shows an officer running toward the car and seemingly striking it as it stops.
