Protests against violence against police personnel have now extended to Bajaur after a spate of targeted deaths in Lakki Marwat.
Police protests in Lakki Marwat reached their third day today as officers organized more sit-ins at Dara Pezu and Manjiwala Chowk, thereby closing all access highways to the city.
On September 9, protesters started calling for the withdrawal of intelligence agency employees from police lines, protection for officers and staff, and complete power for the police force.
If given the appropriate authority, they assert, the police can eradicate terrorism in three months. The police union’s reinstatement and the closing of the dangerous and remote Bragi police station are among the other requests.
