A 12-person gang, including a woman, is allegedly behind the honeytrapping of well-known dramatist Khalilur Rehman Qamar, according to the Lahore police.
The group was apprehended in possession of mobile phones, cash, and sophisticated weaponry. More possible targets of this criminal organization are now being contacted by the authorities.
In order to hide their tracks, the group erased data from Qamar’s mobile phone, kidnapped him under the guise of scriptwriting, and demanded a ransom of Rs. 10 million. The group had been organizing and carrying out significant crimes, focusing on well-known people.
Qamar gave a detailed account of the circumstances leading up to his kidnapping and robbery during a press conference he attended on Monday with DIG Imran Kishwar over the incident in Lahore.
