A significant step toward achieving a national agreement on the proposed constitutional revisions was taken late last night when prominent political figures convened at JUI-F chairman Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s residence.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman was the guest of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari during a critical meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar.
During the two-hour conference, the main goal was to settle disagreements regarding the proposed revisions.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman reportedly urged the government to address the harassment of JUI, BNP Mengal, and PTI members, voicing worries about it. The JUI chief was given assurances by the government that the issues would be settled peacefully.
