The main line, which moves from left to right, displays the average support for each party on a certain date. The average is derived from the simple mean of every poll.
Different pollsters use slightly different methods for interpreting the raw data from their sample of respondents. We do not let people who happen to publish surveys more frequently than others affect our average because each pollster is only used once.
We exclude a pollster’s results from the average if their most recent survey was conducted more than 28 days ago.

The chart’s dots correspond to the outcomes of distinct surveys. The specifics of each party’s poll, including the name of the pollster and the date the survey was completed, are displayed when you click on a dot.
