Nick Read was given a deadline of 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning by the chair of the Business and Trade Committee, following several missed deadlines for submitting the report.
If it is not turned in by then, the committee will talk about officially summoning the document—a rare and restricted authority that MP committees retain in case their regular demands are denied.
Last week, the report’s existence was shockingly revealed.
Investigations were rumored to have involved the previous Post Office chairman Henry Staunton, who was fired by business secretary Kemi Badenoch earlier this year.
However, Mr. Staunton claimed that the report was “a big investigation into Nick” and that he was only referenced in one paragraph during the committee hearing last week.
