According to reliable sources on Monday, the PPP requested the PML-N, one of the main partners in the ruling coalition, to guarantee that the power-sharing arrangement agreed upon in February 2024 is implemented in an effort to ease tensions between the two parties.
The development occurred on Sunday at the home of National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in Lahore, during a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and PPP leaders Syed Khursheed Shah, Shazia Marri, and Aijaz Jakhrani.
The visit was intended to congratulate PPP Deputy Speaker Ghulam Mustafa Shah on the marriage of his son.
PPP leaders Shah and Jakhrani emphasized the necessity of implementing the power-sharing formula during their meeting with PM Shehbaz, while Marri brought up the matter of Sindh’s water share.
