According to government data, there have been over 226,000 dog bite incidents reported in Sindh province this year alone, indicating a worsening public health emergency.
Twelve persons have died from rabies and other dog bite-related illnesses as a result of the rise in dog bite events brought on by the growing number of stray dogs.
With 27,333 occurrences in January, 27,473 in February, and 29,426 in March, the highest number of cases were reported between January and September.
With 22,558 instances in July, 22,575 in August, and well than 24,000 in September, the numbers somewhat declined during the summer. In the province, there are around 120 dog bite instances reported per day.
After a dog bite, health professionals recommend seeking medical attention right away. It is necessary to wash the wound.
