During a visit to Turkmenistan on Friday, President Asif Ali Zardari and Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin stressed the importance of significantly bolstering their bilateral partnership.
According to a press release from the Presidency, the informal conversation took place on the fringes of a two-day international forum in Ashgabat on the theme of “Interrelation of Times and Civilizations—Basis for Peace and Development” in honor of Turkmen poet Magtymguly Faragi, who turned 300 years old today.
The two leaders wished one another well.
The forum was addressed by President Zardari, who arrived on Thursday. The event was also attended by Presidents Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan, Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan, and Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan.
