Known as the most diligent royal, Princess Anne has been assigned a new duty.
With great pleasure, the Merchant Navy Welfare Board (MNWB) has declared that “The Princess Royal will be our new patron.”
Tuesday’s announcement stated, “The Princess Royal joins the MNWB and will help champion the work we do to improve the lives of seafarers and fishers.”
“It’s the first time in MNWB’s 77-year history that it has had royal patronage,” the statement said.
It’s a proud occasion, according to Stuart Rivers, CEO of MNWB, the umbrella organization for the UK Merchant Navy and fishing fleets that represents 47 UK maritime charities.
It is a delight and an honor to greet the Princess Royal.
