A study by The Sutton Trust found that, of the 25 cabinet members, only one attended grammar or private school, and that 92% attended comprehensive school.
In contrast, only 19% of the ministers in Liz Truss’s and Rishi Sunak’s cabinets had a state education.
Since just 6% of kids in the UK attend private schools, the educational experiences of the broader public are highly reflected in this cabinet.
However, this begins to vary when you include higher education; less than 1% of UK citizens attended Oxbridge, whereas 40% of cabinet ministers have attended.
