After Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath chastised her for carrying a bag bearing the word “Palestine,” Ongress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra retaliated. Adityanath said this while speaking to the Uttar Pradesh legislature.
Gandhi responded by denouncing the notion of sending young people to work in a conflict area. “Throwing youths into the war zone in Israel for ’employment’ is not an achievement but a matter of shame,” she said in Hindi on social media. She accused the government of Uttar Pradesh of being “oblivious to the high levels of unemployment” in the state and the difficulties that job seekers confront.
Gandhi also mentioned concerns that many young people employed in Israel are being exploited by their employers, living in fear, and hiding in bunkers.
