SLAMABAD: News reported on Wednesday, citing sources, that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has invited the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP), a significant ally, to join the federal government and has chosen to enlarge the federal cabinet following the budget 2024–25.
According to sources, the cabinet would be formed following the budget and will include prominent political figures from the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and its affiliated parties.
The PML-N leadership has also assigned Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal a significant responsibility in an effort to court the PPP.
It is significant to remember that the PPP supported Shehbaz Sharif for prime minister but declined to join the PML-N combination in Punjab and the Center following the elections.
