Adnan Afzal Chattha, the chairperson of the CM Task Force on Skills Development, stated that the government will usher in a trained and empowered youth population in line with Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s agenda.
While visiting the Punjab Skills Development Fund’s (PSDF) headquarters, Chattha noticed that the government plans to support the skill development of women from rural regions, underprivileged populations, and youth in order to close the skills gap in a quickly changing labor market.
The Task Force seeks to advance economic growth, improve young socioeconomic position, generate sustainable employment opportunities, and supply top-notch human resources for worldwide placement, particularly in GCC regions, by harmonizing with the Chief Minister’s vision. The Chief Minister’s Skilled Punjab Development Program, the Chief Minister Skills Development Program for Transgenders, and Empowering Women by Way of IT Training Across Punjab were among the skill development initiatives that were reviewed during the conference.
In addition, he highlighted the Chief Minister’s emphasis on building the global certification ecosystem and aiming for worldwide job placements, which would raise living standards and remittance flows. He underlined that these benefits would originate from globally recognized IT course certifications from major players in the market like Google, IBM, Microsoft, Meta, and so forth. As a result, the nation’s freelancing market is better off, and there are more prospects for workers in international markets.
