On Friday, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) began a campaign to stop the country’s illicit SIM card issuance.
Details indicated that the franchise sellers had also been taken into custody. The PTA had started a campaign to stop the improper use of finger prints and the unauthorized SIM card issuing.
The Dayalpur and Okara franchises were the target of a crackdown by the PTA and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
Two biometric verification system (BVS) devices and twenty-five suspected SIMs were taken during the operation.
