According to the sources on Tuesday, the web management system (WMS) has been used by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority to prohibit at least 2,369 websites and 183 mobile applications.
They said that the non-compliant websites were being banned by the system, and that the WMS monitored the content within the “defined limits.”
This is in response to grievances regarding the internet’s accessibility. Social media sites have been especially hard hit; users are having trouble downloading audio messages. Internet service providers have blamed social media problems for the issue, although cell firms contest any responsibility.
Issues with internet service might last until August 30, according to media sources.
