The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has declared that it will hold a nationwide demonstration on Friday in opposition to the 26th proposed constitutional package. This announcement comes just one day after the PPP and the Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) came to an agreement on the joint draft of the controversial judicial package.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the opposition party stated, “PTI political committee has decided to resist the constitutional amendments.”
The central committee of the PTI has instructed all local and regional organizations to stage nonviolent demonstrations in opposition to the government’s efforts to enact the constitutional change.
The PTI vowed in the statement to utilize all available means to prevent the proposed constitutional reforms from passing both chambers of parliament.
