PESHAWAR: If its leaders are denied the opportunity to meet with party founder Imran Khan, who is now in prison, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has declared that it will not attend the in-camera session of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security (PCNS) on security-related matters.
The party’s political committee demanded in a statement during a late-night meeting that its leaders meet with Khan prior to the important National Assembly session today. PTI made it apparent that fulfilling this demand was a requirement for its attendance at the meeting.
The PTI’s attitude follows the announcement by Mahmood Khan Achakzai’s multi-party opposition alliance, Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Ayeen-e-Pakistan (TTAP), that they will boycott the session.
