ISLAMABAD: The government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have failed to bring their background talks to a successful conclusion.
PTI founding leader Imran Khan requested his release from prison by Friday in order to cancel the protest march to Islamabad on November 24, but the government refused, according to an informed source.
The incarcerated PTI founder chairman refused to accept the government’s promises that Imran could receive some relief soon.
According to the source, the administration has now requested that the PTI stage a public rally in Sangjani and disband peacefully on the same day in order to open the door for future negotiations.
On this issue, his party leaders may consult the imprisoned former prime minister once more.
