On Sunday evening, both houses of parliament approved the contentious change.
The PTI is considering the following options: referring the National Assembly Speaker, suing these members in the Supreme Court and Pakistan’s Election Commission, and encouraging the public to boycott them on social media.
These members will no longer be affiliated with the PTI, the party has decided.
It is important to note that independent MNAs Usman Ali, Mubarak Zeb, Aurangzeb Khichi, and Zahoor Qureshi—all supported by the PTI—voted in favor of the change.
