In a statement released in Islamabad on Wednesday, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar urged the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to provide an explanation for the 2018 general elections.
“If objections exist regarding the 2024 general elections, the courts should decide,” Dar said, highlighting his confidence in reconciliation while citing multiple challenges against the polls held on February 8. However, the 2018 elections must mark the start of accountability.
“Everyone knows who won and who was made to win that election,” he said, casting doubt on the validity of the 2018 results.
