ISLAMABAD: The former ruling party made it clear that the talks with “powerful quarters” would start after the release of the imprisoned former prime minister, a day after Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), approved talks with the establishment ahead of its “do-or-die” protest on November 24.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur said in a statement that “[the] negotiations will only begin with PTI founder’s release and move ahead,” just hours after the former premier was granted bail by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in the Toshakhana 2.0 case.
The present government stated that the PTI founder still faces numerous other cases in which he has not yet been given bail, thus the bail does not guarantee Imran’s release from prison.
