ISLAMABAD: According to a federal capital police spokesperson on Friday, three jail vans containing a number of PTI legislators, government employees, and police officers arrested in connection with the D-Chowk protest case were attacked by armed attackers.
Following a court hearing, three prison vans carrying “82 accused, including PTI members of provincial assembly (MPAs), government officials, and policemen, to Attock jail” were attacked by the unidentified attackers with guns, the spokesperson continued.
Following a gun attack on prison vans in Islamabad, PTI MPAs among fugitive prisoners were apprehended again.
Anwar Zaib, Liaquat, and Yasir Qureshi, PTI MPAs, were being transported in one of the prison vehicles.
The Islamabad police claim that after the armed attack, the PTI legislators and other prisoners were able to escape from the prison vans.
