ISLAMABAD The two-day SCO meeting that is set to start today (Tuesday) has caused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to postpone its October 15 D-Chowk protest, as revealed by party chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan in a statement late on Monday.
The PTI political committee made the decision during a meeting when the majority of attendees asked that the protest call be withdrawn in light of the SCO Council of Heads of Government (CHG) meeting on October 15–16, according to News.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan stated that the decision was made on Tuesday morning following a formal contact by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi with his party to guarantee Imran Khan’s medical test while he was incarcerated.
He went on to say that after Naqvi’s guarantee, his group decided to postpone its nonviolent protest.
