ISLAMABAD: In response to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) “do-or-die” protest call, district administrations in Islamabad and Rawalpindi have declared that educational institutions will be closed today.
According to a notification released by the capital administration, the decision was made in light of the current circumstances.
It further stated that all educational institutions in the nation’s capital will be subject to the notification.
In the meantime, Murree Deputy Commissioner Agha Zaheer Abbas declared that due to the “prevailing situation,” the city’s educational institutions will also be closed.
Later, he said, a notification will be sent out that will apply to all public and private schools.
The announcement coincided with the former ruling party’s preparations to hold a “do-or-die” demonstration against the “illegal” imprisonment of PTI at Islamabad’s D-Chowk.
