The government promised to thwart the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) “conspiracy” after the party announced a demonstration on the first day of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Islamabad. A number of political parties responded to the announcement.
The PTI has said that it will stage another demonstration at Islamabad’s D-Chowk on October 15 in anticipation of the foreign guests’ arrival for the SCO meeting.
As the chiefs of state of the SCO gathered, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif declared that the government will not allow the nation to be kept captive.
“In 2014, they staged a sit-in, and on May 9, something happened. He referred to the PTI as a pawn in global conspiracies and added, “These are all part of a chain that is destabilizing the country.”
