Advocate Ali Bukhari, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has stated that while his party is open to negotiations, the government is not sincere about initiating contact with the opposition party. He also pointed out that the civil disobedience movement has been postponed rather than completely canceled.
Hours before, the PTI leader had declared that negotiations with the beleaguered PTI with the “sword of civil disobedience hanging on its neck” were not possible under the current Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) administration.
Speaking on the floor of the National Assembly on Tuesday, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif stated, “For the first time, a pleasant breeze came from the opposition […] but talks cannot be held at gunpoint.”
