RAWALPIDNI: In order to reach a “logical conclusion” in the ongoing negotiations with the government, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) negotiation committee has set a deadline of January 31, 2025. The committee has reiterated its demands for a judicial investigation into the May 9 riots, a late-night crackdown on November 26, and the release of “political prisoners.”
Following his meeting with the imprisoned former prime minister, Sahibzada Hamid Raza, the head of the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), told reporters, “PTI founder [Imran Khan] is ready to forgive everyone for all the ill-treatment he has suffered for the sake of Pakistan.”
According to sources who spoke to News, the PTI negotiators briefed Imran on the first round of negotiations, which took place on Monday, and conferred with him over future tactics.
