The Punjab government has decided to decrease the price of ghee by Rs15 per kilogramme throughout the province. The measure, which takes effect immediately, seeks to reduce the financial burden on consumers, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.
The news was made by ghee manufacturers, who confirmed the price drop during a meeting of the Ramazan Monitoring Committee presided over by Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, the province minister for industry.
The committee meeting, which included provincial ministers Bilal Yasin, Ashiq Hussain Kirmani, and Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman, as well as senior officials, discussed how to handle consumer concerns and ensure an adequate supply of basic items throughout Ramadan.
A delegation from the Vanaspati Manufacturers Association, led by Vice Chairman Muneeb Mannu, expressed satisfaction during the meeting.

He highlighted that providing relief to customers is the government’s main concern, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.
