LAHORE: In an effort to lessen the impacts of the province’s heavy smog, the Punjab administration has successfully tested a local technology for creating artificial rain.
The ‘cloud seeding’ procedure was implemented at Jhelum, Gujar Khan, Chakwal, and Talagang, and within a few hours, rainfall was recorded in the first two locations.
The Environmental Protection Agency, Army Aviation, Pak Arab Refinery Limited (PARCO), the Punjab government, and Pakistan Army’s Scientific Research and Development specialists collaborated on the project.
To effectively finish this study, all pertinent institutions made use of their superior technology and local experience.
The purpose of the artificial rain is to counteract the haze that has made it much harder to see in Lahore, Multan, and other Punjabi cities, raising the danger of respiratory illnesses.
