Punjab Police Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced on Saturday to hold a “special court martial” of corrupt police personnel in an effort to eradicate corruption from the force.

CM Maryam, presiding over a special meeting, assessed the province’s general state of law and order.

The provincial administration decided to develop a “special audit system” in order to uncover the dishonest and unprofessional police officials, according to a statement released after the meeting.

It stated that corrupt police officers or those with ties to criminals would face a special court martial.

The statement said, “For this purpose, a complaint can be registered on the special dashboard of the CM for demanding bribe.”

During the discussion, the idea to create border security units was also discussed.It made the decision to create a police force with specialized training for all types of offenses.

She also approved the continuation of the anti-drug campaign. Punjab made the decision to propose legislation changes that will keep the death sentence available for rapes of women and children.

The chief minister ordered stringent action to end Punjab’s culture of illegal weapons. She gave orders to use metal wire to prevent kite flying and to make sure that all precautions were taken.

She stated that the first priority of her government is to ensure the safety of each and every Punjabi citizen. According to the CM, the police will have drones, night vision, and contemporary weapons and vehicles.
