Just hours before the current attack in Rahim Yar Khan’s Machka neighborhood, Punjab Inspector General of Police Dr Usman Anwar had issued warnings about the possibility of dacoit attacks in the katcha area spanning Punjab and Sindh.
The IGP made it clear in an exclusive interview with Samaa TV that more attacks on police checkpoints are planned as part of the ongoing effort to combat dacoit gangs in the area.
Dr. Anwar further claimed that the neighboring region’s difficulties were limited to social and economic growth. Additionally, he brought up the fact that rising river levels caused dacoit gang activity to escalate, raising security worries. He issued a warning, saying that criminals in the katcha area took advantage of the difficult terrain and erratic river conditions.
