In response to the health hazards posed by the province’s rising smog situation, the authorities have announced revised school schedules for Punjab.
The updated hours and additional recommendations were released in a statement by the Punjab Environmental Protection Authority on Wednesday.
According to the announcement, school hours will begin at 8:45 a.m. on October 28 and run until January 31, 2025. The administrators of the schools have been instructed to hold the student assemblies indoors.
Among other preventive steps, citizens have been encouraged to wear masks, check the condition of their vehicles, avoid exercising outside, and keep their doors and windows closed to prevent bad air.
Fireworks and other similar activities are prohibited until January 31, 2025.
