The Punjab government declared its budget to be the first tax-free budget of the current administration when it announced it on Thursday. The budget has a total expenditure of Rs5.4 trillion.
According to Radio Pakistan, Punjab Finance Minister Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, who presented the budgetary plans, stated that no additional taxes had been included in the budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
He declared that additional measures will boost income collection by fifty percent and that the next Annual Development Program would cost Rs842 billion.
According to him, the ADP will include up to 77 new megaprojects, with a revenue target of Rs960 billion for the upcoming fiscal year.
According to the Punjab Finance Minister, government employees’ salaries will rise, and the minimum wage was raised from 32,000 to 37,000 in the budget.
