In an operation in Taunsa, the Punjab Wildlife Department worked with the local police in response to a tip, and they seized a rare eagle that was worth at over $36,000 on the international market.
Police and the wildlife department apprehend a man who is believed to be involved in its trafficking.
The eagle was deemed physically well and ready for release by officials.
The accused is thought to be a part of a bigger operation that smuggles endangered birds into other countries illegally.
Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb congratulated the Wildlife Department on behalf of the Punjab Chief Minister for the successful operation and commended them for their dedication to preserving endangered animals.
The recovered eagle will be tagged with a tracker before being returned to its natural habitat, the Punjab Wildlife Department reported.
