A warning has been released by the Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) indicating that there will be intense monsoon rains throughout the province from now until July 20. A spokeswoman stated that there will be severe gusts and heavy rain in the majority of the province’s regions.
The PDMA spokeswoman stated that Punjab is anticipated to have much less heat and humidity after the monsoon rains. But the intense rains might also cause rivers and canals to overflow, endangering the impacted areas.
Particularly, between July 17 and 19, south Punjab is expected to get a significant amount of rainfall, which could increase the danger of floods and associated problems.
Irfan Ali Kathia, the PDMA director general, underlined the significance of large city governments continuing to be watchful and thorough.steps taken to lessen the effects of anticipated flooding and storm damage.
With a warning that “storms associated with these monsoon rains could damage electric poles and solar panels,” Kathia urged authorities and locals to take the appropriate safety measures.
