Some users who were looking for a better way to adhere cheese on pizza were informed by its experimental “AI Overviews” tool that they could use “non-toxic glue”.
According to the AI-generated search engine results, geologists advise people to consume one rock per day.
A Google representative described them as “isolated examples” to the news.
Several of the responses seemed to have been inspired by articles from the satirical website The Onion or comments made on Reddit.
On social media, they have received a lot of derision.
However, Google claimed that the functionality was functioning properly overall.
“The examples we’ve seen are generally very uncommon queries, and aren’t representative of most people’s experiences,” added the statement.
