According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, he is willing to grant the United States access to rare minerals, including those originating from Ukraine, which is under Russian occupation.
According to a Ukrainian official, US President Donald Trump has pushed for Ukraine to give up some of its minerals in exchange for backing on multiple occasions. The contract is currently being finalized.
Putin said he was prepared to “offer” resources to American partners in cooperative projects, including mining in Russia’s “new territories”—refers to areas of eastern Ukraine that Russia has controlled since launching a full-scale invasion three years ago—in a state TV interview on Monday.
