A significant milestone in aviation history was reached on October 22, 2024, when passengers on the Doha-to-London trip enjoyed uninterrupted internet access at 35,000 feet.
With this innovative move, Qatar Airways will be the first and biggest airline in the MENA area to deploy Starlink’s ultra-high-speed, low-latency internet service throughout the whole fleet. Utilizing a constellation of satellites in low Earth orbit, SpaceX’s Starlink system provides dependable connectivity across oceans and distant regions. With download rates of up to 350 Mbps, passengers may now engage in activities like gaming, streaming, and video conversations while in flight.
