In a private letter, Queen Camilla praised the courage and resilience of French rape survivor Gisèle Pelicot and offered her assistance.
When Pelicot decided to come forward in a mass rape case involving her ex-husband and fifty other men, she garnered international attention.
According to a Palace source who spoke to Newsweek, Camilla wanted to express her support since she was so inspired by Pelicot’s bravery.
They stated, “She was tremendously affected by the Madame Pelicot case in France and that lady’s extraordinary dignity and courage as she put herself in the public eye because, as she rightly put it, why should she be made to feel like a victim or hide away in shame?”
