Six days after an 11-year-old student was kidnapped, protests, including sit-ins, marches, and traffic blockades, are still taking place throughout Quetta. The child is still missing, and the protests don’t seem to be slowing down.
The business sector has reportedly called for a walkout today to express solidarity with the impacted family and to denounce the kidnapping, according to media reports.
After learning of the incident, Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail of Balochistan ordered Inspector General of Police Moazzam Jah Ansari to make sure the kidnapped student was returned safely and promptly. The governor underlined that every effort should be made to ensure the child’s safe return and hold the offenders accountable.
