ISLAMABAD: The caretaker government’s cabinet committee report on the alleged inciting of violence on May 9, 2023, noticeably omits the names of PTI President Chaudhry Pervez Elahi and Deputy Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
The report describes the alleged involvement of a number of PTI leaders in the attacks on military sites and was handed to the current federal cabinet.
Elahi and Qureshi’s names are not mentioned in any way, even though it talks about PTI founder Imran Khan’s involvement and charges him with deliberately orchestrating the May 9 events. Both leaders are still facing numerous FIRs for the May 9 violence in spite of this.
Numerous PTI politicians are accused of inciting violence, according to the report.
