In the Rahim Yar Khan by-election for the National Assembly seat NA-171, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has prevailed.
Makhdoom Tahir Rashiduddin, the PPP candidate, received 116,429 votes, more than the 58,251 votes received by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Hassaan Mustafa, according to the official results from all voting places. Although there were seven candidates running for the office, the PPP and PTI’s rivalry took center stage.
There are 526,973 registered voters in the constituency, and 301 polling places were set up just for this by-election. There were 88 polling places designated for male voters, 88 for female voters, and 125 for combined voters out of all of these. Additionally, 62 polling places were identified as sensitive, and extra precautions, such as CCTV cameras, have been taken.
