K-Electric (KE), Karachi’s only energy supplier, has restored power to Pakistan Railways after turning it off for the company’s overdue debt on Wednesday.
According to a Railways official, the stay order obtained by the KE that required both parties to settle the matter has been lifted by a court.
The divisional superintendent of Pakistan Railways is in the KE’s office with other officials, and the two parties are now negotiating a settlement.
This comes after the KE decided to cut off power to Pakistan Railways colonies and installations because of Rs430 million in unpaid debts on 31 connections.
