The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) central secretary general, Salman Akram Raja, has charged that the state used deadly force on PTI demonstrators, claiming that multiple party members were killed and numerous others are still unaccounted for.
Raja said in an interview with TV’s “Spotlight” show that the party would call witnesses to support these allegations in the coming days.
Raja claimed that the government’s reaction to the demonstrations was out of proportion and unwarranted. He said that 12 PTI members were killed when demonstrators were not only shelled but also shot with live ammunition. He added that the party is now gathering evidence to back up these allegations and would submit a First Information Report (FIR) as soon as all required paperwork has been acquired.
