LAHORE: On February 6, a Lahore anti-corruption court will render a decision regarding the acquittal arguments made by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shabaz in the Ramzan sugar mills case.
This comes as Judge Sardar Iqbal Dogar of the Anti-Corruption Court heard the case regarding PM Shehbaz’s alleged abuse of power while serving as Punjab’s chief minister, which involved using public funds to build a sludge carrier to support his sons’ Ramzan Sugar Mills.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) accused Shehbaz, who was the chief minister at the time, of arranging for the construction of a 10-kilometer sludge transporter in the district of Chiniot in order to facilitate the facility in its reference filed on February 18, 2019.
